Play and Creative Arts Therapy

Play Therapy is a type of therapy where play and art materials are used as the main way for children to express themselves.

Alongside the development of a trusting relationship with a trained therapist the child should be able to fully express and explore their thoughts, feelings, behaviours and work though traumatic experiences which may be preoccupying them.

In Play Therapy sessions, children can explore their own creativity and express themselves using media such as: drawing and painting, water and clay, sand tray and miniatures, guided imagery and relaxation techniques, drama and puppetry, personalised therapeutic stories, movement and music.
